Hi, I’m Sophie, the founder of Mitro Mate. I was born with Bladder
Exstrophy and now live with a Mitrofanoff, which I use to catheterise and
empty my bladder.

As a little one, I was scared to catheterise and felt isolated by my medical
experience. I never saw toys that reflected what I was going through, and
that lack of representation stayed with me.

Mitro Mate was born from that experience. I wanted to create a toy range
that brings comfort, inclusion, and visibility to kids with medical conditions
or disabilities—so they can see themselves in the toys they play with. 

I want kids with medical conditions or disabilities to see themselves in the
toys they play with—to feel understood, empowered, and less alone.
Through this range, I hope to transform what was once a source of fear
and isolation into a platform for healing, resilience, and joy.
